Research project

試験管

RNA biology

Our research focuses on messenger RNA regulations, in particular, understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying Nonsense-Mediated mRNA decay (NMD).

Our goal is to understand the molecular mechanism and the physiological importance of NMD  from transcription to decay, in single cells and single molecules.

RNA therapeutics

Our goal is to understand NMD activities in disease-related genes with nonsense mutations and contribute to developing drug therapies against nonsense mutation-associated human diseases and benefit public health in society.

Chromatin biology

We ask the fundamental question of chromosome regulations using multiple approaches of imaging, biochemistry, and massively parallel sequencing techniques.
